The aim of this plug-in is to allow you to sort your bookmarks into categories making it easier to manage and use them. It works by adding a cateory to the main bookmark view and creates sub-views related to those categories as well as being able to place the bookmarks into sub-menus in the main bookmark menus in Winamp. The screenshots below show the main bookmark view with 3 categories present and you can leave bookmarks uncategorised if you want as shown. Also can be seen the additional menu items the plug-in adds for handling the bookmarks in the view at the bottom of the menu screenshot.

As with most of my plug-ins, there are addtional options allowing for better control over how the plug-in works like automatically sorting added bookmarks into a category based on their tags or even showing a prompt to allow for correct categorisation. The plug-in uses a separate file to Winamp's bookmark file(s) (*) and is named winamp.bmc. It is stored in the same location as Winamp's own settings which is usually %appdata%\Winamp. * Winamp uses winamp.bm (original file) and winamp.bm8 (utf8 encoded version for better handling of unicode file) with this last file being introduced in v5.58. |
