The aim of this plug-in is to provide a 'find as you type' experience in Winamp's playlist editor as best as can be done with how the playlist editor works. As such, the plug-in works by overriding the normal keyboard handling of the playlist editor when the 'scroll lock' key is active.

As can be seen from the screenshot to the right, there are a number of preference options for how to handle a match in the playlist editor from highlighting (with a compatible version of the JTFE plug-in present to just playing the first match.

There is the intention to make the searching more flexible in a newer version of the plug-in so it can match any word in the playlist editor's contents though this has not been worked on as of this update (September 2010).
